Jorn Utzon, a Dane, is the Architect of the Sydney Opera House, a position he won after a competition. In the face of startling cost overruns, he became embroiled in controversey. Before the Opera House was completed, indeed, before the interior had been fully designed, he left Australia vowing never to return. The interior design was completed by another architect. Well, they say that time heals all wounds. Return he did. This sign hangs in the first interior space fully designed by Utzon, the room, shown below.
